Issued to Henry Rohn under Certificate No. 23,670 (recorded in Volume 47, Page 329), the document is executed by Assistant Secretary H. E. Baldwin for President Franklin Pierce, countersigned by acting recorder J. S. Wilson, and bears an embossed General Land Office paper seal. The accompanying portrait print includes the lower inscription marking it from a photograph from life. Both items are displayed in a black double-opening mat within an ornate gilt molded frame fitted with a top metal hanging bracket.
